Vanderbilt March Madness Odds 2025: Will Commodores’ Men’s Basketball Make The NCAA Tournament?

Fact Checked by Thomas Leary

The Vanderbilt Commodores are enjoying one of their best seasons in recent memory under first-year coach Mark Byington. But can Vandy parlay that into the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017?

Thanks to their recent play against ranked competition, the Commodores are now considered a likely tournament team by several operators who offer Tennessee sports betting promos. Byington’s team will have several opportunities to make their case while playing in the nation’s toughest conference.

With Selection Sunday nearing, BetTennessee is watching Vandy’s hoops team and the likelihood they make March Madness.

Since our initial post on Jan. 16, Vandy’s chances to make the tournament have risen by about 20%. That’s because the Commodores have defeated ranked league rivals Tennessee and Kentucky over the span of a week. They also have a chance to bounce back against No. 6 Florida tonight after a bad loss to Oklahoma.

Being in the Southeastern Conference can be considered a blessing and a curse. It gives the Commodores the opportunity for several more signature wins to increase their chances. However, it also means a long losing streak could put them on the wrong side of the bubble.

Rating Vandy’s Odds to Make March Madness in 2025

Vandy has 10 SEC regular-season games left for Tennessee sports betting action, and seven of those are against teams currently ranked in the Associated Press Top 25. After beating Kentucky and Tennessee at home, the Commodores will play them on the road in back-to-back games after a home game on Feb. 11 against Auburn, the team currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.

Vandy doesn’t need to run the table by any stretch to get consideration for an at-large bid. For what it’s worth, BetMGM Tennessee Sportsbook gives Vanderbilt +25000 odds to win the conference regular season title.

The Commodores probably need to finish SEC play 8-10 or better to be considered. They currently stand 4-4 in the SEC (16-5 overall). However, KenPom.com only has Vanderbilt favored three of its remaining regular-season games.

While several sportsbooks previously had Vandy as a bubble team, they have taken them off those boards. That’s an indication the oddsmakers believe they will make it. That said, they will be considered a heavy underdog to make a long run in March. At FanDuel Tennessee Sportsbook, the Commodores’ odds to win it all are +15000.
