Tennessee Football Bowl Projections: Odds For Volunteers’ 2025-26 Bowl Game

The Tennessee Volunteers football team made history last season by being part of the first 12-team College Football Playoff. That trip ended quickly, but many Vols fans held out hope for a return trip this season.

Unfortunately, a 33-27 home loss to Oklahoma on Nov. 1 ended any chance for Coach Josh Heupel’s squad to get a playoff berth.

BetTennessee has developed odds on where the traditional SEC powerhouse will play this postseason as part of our Tennessee sports betting coverage.

Tennessee’s regular season ended in disappointing fashion with a 45-24 loss at home to rival Vanderbilt. The Vols finished the regular season 8-4 overall and 4-4 in the SEC.

Most bowl prognosticators believe Tennessee will go to either the Gator or ReliaQuest bowls, and we agree, with the Gator in Jacksonville the favorite in our rankings.

How The SEC Pairs Its Teams With Bowls

This season, the SEC will have more bowl tie-ins than it will have eligible teams. That is because the conference will get four or five schools in the College Football Playoff. Tennessee is more likely to end up in a more prestigious bowl as a result.

After the College Football Playoff selects its 12 participants, the Citrus Bowl will select a representative from the remaining SEC bowl eligible teams. With Vanderbilt and Texas ahead of Tennessee in the standings, it would make most sense for either of those schools to get that spot. Alabama could be involved in the non-CFP mix if the Crimson Tide lose Saturday’s SEC Championship game to Georgia (the Bulldogs are a 2.5-point favorite at bet365 Sportsbook Tennessee).

The next six bowls on the list are: Liberty, Duke’s Mayo, ReliaQuest, Texas, Gator and Music City in no set order. It seems more likely Tennessee would go to a bowl that’s in the southeast, though the Liberty Bowl could have some appeal. That’s why we believe the Gator and ReliaQuest are the top options.

Tennessee fans tend to travel well, and the two Florida-based bowls on here would love to see a swarm of orange in their stadiums this holiday season.
