Tennessee’s Favorite Cities To Visit

Fact Checked by Nate Hamilton

School is out for the summer and the season is in full swing, which means an uptick in family vacations across the state of Tennessee. Tennessee is also a popular place for outsiders to come and visit and for some TN sportsbooks, particularly right now while summer is at its peak.

There are tons of events happening in the summer, especially in the city of Nashville, which has risen in popularity as a vacation (and living) destination over the past decade. Nashville has also made a case as the new unofficial home of bachelorette parties, taking the mantle from Las Vegas in recent years.

The heat in the months of July and August can sometimes be too much for those not used to the hot climate, so April, May, June, and September are also great times to come visit.

Top 3 Cities To Visit for Tennessee Residents

With the heat kicking up in July and August it can be a great time for Tennesseeans to get out of the state for their own vacations. BetTennessee.com was interested in determining where locals like to head to when getting out of state, so we used Google Trends to discover the most searched cities in Tennessee by utilizing the term ‘Flights To’ and finding the most often searched city at the end of the phrase.

After completing the trends over the past 12 months we were able to find the top three cities for the state.

3 âœˆ Miami, FL

Tennessee Loves to Travel to A-Town

Looking at the information above it appears that escaping from the heat is not a priority for people in Tennessee. All three cities that ranked at the top of the list are from warm weather climates with Atlanta, Las Vegas and Miami topping the list.

Atlanta makes for a perfect weekend getaway out of Tennessee, with flights from Nashville International Airport to Atlanta taking just over an hour and coming in at a price around $250USD. Atlanta has an excellent aquarium for people of all ages to visit, giving it an attraction for families and individuals alike. There is also a great zoo and tons of historical landmarks to visit and appreciate. Sports fans can check out Falcons, Hawks or Braves games as well.

Las Vegas sits near the top of the list for many states and Tennessee is no exception. The Vegas strip, amazing shows and gambling scene is perfect for any adult excursions. Vegas also has recently seen two professional sports teams call it home with the Raiders of the NFL and the Golden Knights of the NHL putting on great shows when they are playing. Although Nashville is a great place for bachelorette parties, locals from in-state surely prefer to go elsewhere and Vegas is a natural place to host such festivities.

Finally, Miami checks in at third on the list. While the weather is hot in both places, Miami boasts a beach scene on the Atlantic Ocean that Tennessee simply does not have, making it an attractive destination. The Everglades National Park is also a unique experience that isn’t available anywhere in the state of Tennessee.

While Tennessee is a great spot to live and home of some of the best Tennessee sportsbook apps, everyone needs somewhere to escape to and it appears that staying in the heat is a priority for members of the state but that doesn’t mean that Tennesseans can’t find different experiences that they can’t get at home while on vacation.
