Memphis Grizzlies Draft Picks 2024: Who Will They Select in NBA Draft?

Fact Checked by Nate Hamilton

On the heels of their worst year-end win percentage in nearly a decade, head coach Taylor Jenkins and the Memphis Grizzlies enter the NBA offseason needing to regroup and reload on talent to get back to the form that led them to three straight postseason runs between 2021 and 2023.

Obviously, on the main hangups for Memphis this past season, was the 25-game suspension handed down by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to star guard Ja Morant, taking one of the league’s best backcourt players out of the Grizzlies’ rotation for most of the season.

Throw in the fact that Morant made it all of nine games before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury and you have the full picture as to why Memphis’ win total fell off from 51 in 2022-23 to 27 in 2023-24.

Now, GM Zachary Kleiman and Jenkins are tasked with rebooting the Grizzlies’ rotation this offseason, beginning with next month’s NBA Draft in Brooklyn, which led BetTennessee.com to use our Tennessee sports betting mindset and post some hypothetical odds on who Memphis could go with at No. 9 in the first round of this year’s two-round event.

Memphis Grizzlies Draft Picks 2024: Projected Picks

Round

Pick #

39 (via BKN)

58 (via OKC)

This year, Memphis holds three draft picks, with a single first-round pick at No. 9 to go with a pair of second-round selections (Nos. 39 and 58) that the franchise acquired from the Brooklyn Nets and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Coming off the club’s worst year-end win total since going 22-60 (.268) in 2017-18, rest assured that there are plenty of openings that Memphis’ front office will have to fill before the NBA regular season tips off this fall.

Memphis Grizzlies Draft Needs 2024

Given Memphis’ down year last season, it’s safe to say that the Grizzlies’ needs pretty much span the floor, though the team’s front office could start by trying to bolster their frontcourt at center and small forward.
